The people at Pet Rest are absolutely wonderful. We have unfortunately had to use their services four times in the past two years. The pick up and drop off services from home or from a vet's office make the process easier from an emotional standpoint.
We had our last dog, Eddie, euthanized at home. He was over 100lbs. When I called to make the arrangements, they were incredibly accommodating. I was so worried that we would have to help transport Eddie's body to the Pet Rest truck, but they sent two wonderfully polite and kind gentlemen who waited outside until we were ready for Eddie to go. They brought a stretcher and a nice, clean quilt to cover him with. They gave us all the time we needed to say our final goodbyes when Eddie was in the truck for one last car ride.
I can't overstate how respectful and kind the entire staff is. We have spread our kids' ashes, so opt for a plastic urn. The urn comes in a little brown paper bag with a certificate with the pet's name and date of cremation as well as information on pet loss support meetings.
There are various options for services if your budget doesn't allow for private cremation and return of your pets ashes.
I cannot recommend Pet Rest highly enough for when the most difficult day comes for you and your pet.
