My husband and I are from Atlanta, and we stay at the Inn every time we visit Charleston and it's our favorite part of the trip! The decor is adorably southern and the food is incredible. You really need to make sure you take advantage of the fantastic breakfast menu if you stay there (just know that there's no breakfast on Monday's though). We've tried almost everything on the menu and you can't go wrong with any of it!!! This was where we stayed during the weekend that my husband proposed to me on a carriage ride through Charleston. Then, we rented every room out for our wedding last summer. The staff was incredibly friendly (they really went above and beyond for us many times on such a hectic weekend!) and the area is so charming. Every guest was from out of town and they all loved the Inn. My husband and I stayed in the 2 room suite across the street in the Jacob Bond house, which was so nice to have a full kitchen for us to have food around while the bridal party got dressed. The grooms party got dressed in the huge room down below ours. We had our wedding at the Creek Club at I'On so it was a quick ~3-4 minute drive to get there and all in the same community. We also hosted our rehearsal dinner at Union Hall at the Inn and it was perfect! They just renovated this past year (it was a restaurant called Carter's Kitchen the first time we stayed at the Inn). The decor in Union Hall was neutral and so tasteful that we only added centerpieces to each table and no other decorations were needed. We had about 35 people for the dinner and again, the food was fantastic!!!!! Everyone said they couldn't believe how cute the Inn was and how good the food tasted. There were mounted flatscreens with surround sound throughout, so we used that for a slideshow and then to throw on football towards the end of the night. It was great having the rooms upstairs so our elderly grandparents could easily retire to their rooms when they were ready to leave. Another perk to staying at the Inn, is that there was a pub across the street that provided a central place for everyone to meet up without having to drive anywhere. They even had live music some nights too. That's where we had the unofficial post-reception party for our wedding :) Yes... we shut it down that night and it was perfect to wrap up the night there and walk across the street to our rooms. Overall I can't say enough good things about the Inn at I'On... hence the book review above. Selfishly I want to keep this place a secret to myself so we have availability whenever we visit (there are only 11 rooms total), but that wouldn't be fair to not share this! We really can't imagine staying anywhere else whenever we are in town and I can't wait to go back!!!!
Meet some friends who were staying here. There room was large and very nicely appointed.
